A significant seminar on “De-Addiction: Awareness, Prevention and Rehabilitation” was organized at Vidhik Seva Sadan, Civil Court Buxar on February 23, 2026. The program was conducted under the joint initiative of District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Buxar, in association with Buxar Medical City.
The seminar aimed to spread awareness about the rising issue of substance abuse and the urgent need for prevention and structured rehabilitation across society.
Chief Legal Authorities Emphasize Social Responsibility
The event witnessed the presence of several distinguished legal and medical professionals. Among them, Advocate and General Secretary of Civil Court Buxar, Shree Vindeshwary Prasad Pandey, addressed the gathering, highlighting the increasing social impact of drug addiction and the responsibility of institutions in combating it.
Speaking at the podium, he stressed that addiction is not just a personal issue but a social challenge that requires collective awareness, early prevention, and compassionate rehabilitation mechanisms.
He emphasized that legal awareness programs play a vital role in guiding youth away from substance abuse and ensuring that families understand the legal and social consequences associated with narcotic misuse.
Focus on Prevention and Rehabilitation
The seminar focused on three key pillars:
• Awareness among youth
• Early intervention
• Structured rehabilitation programs
Medical experts explained the psychological and physical impact of drug dependency, while legal authorities highlighted the importance of legal literacy in preventing narcotics-related offenses.
The banner slogan displayed during the event — “नशा छोड़ो, जिंदगी चुनो” (Quit Addiction, Choose Life) — reflected the central message of the seminar.
Collaboration Between Legal and Medical Institutions
The event was organized in collaboration with Buxar Medical City and District Legal Service Authority to promote coordinated efforts between healthcare and the judiciary in addressing addiction issues.
Such seminars aim to build a safer and healthier community by spreading awareness at the grassroots level.
Officials present at the event encouraged citizens to actively participate in awareness campaigns and support individuals undergoing rehabilitation rather than stigmatizing them.
“Public awareness and disciplined daily habits are essential in preventing long-term social issues.”
